Hello
If you are here, you are interested in knowing what is the #fabover40 competition all about. For me it's about positioning myself to be seen and in the presence of women over 40 that have similar experiences in life as me. These areas include but not limited to beauty, family, fitness, fun and career. Check out my "brief" story below.
My Story
If you know anything about me, you will know I always find myself in position to help or assist women in any way I can. As a mother and wife I have come to know that balance is the key to a Peace of Mind when juggling life's responsibilities. I started in the beauty industry from a child. My grandmother, a breast cancer survivor, was the neighborhood hair stylist. Growing up and watching her care for other women put a spark in me that did not ignite until I was about 12 years old. I would do what I saw her do, take clients from the home as an outlet and hobby. I began learning Cosmetology in High School at the vocational college at the age of 15. I found myself as a Commission-Based Salon Owner in 2009 and it was on from there. l loved working in the Beauty Industry. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a women totally transform from the time she walks in the door until the time she walks out. I used to tell my staff, we do not provide a service, we offer confidence awareness and there is a difference. That was a beautiful time in my life and am appreciative of every moment of it.
In 2021 I decided to close my salon and take time to really "find myself". I had allowed my love for the salon to get in the way of my own personal needs as well as my families. It's been an amazing journey, however, I am finding my way back to the Beauty Industry.....again. I'm not mad at it, I'm actually pretty excited about it!! I have so many options to choose from but the area that calls me the loudest is Paramedical Tattooing and PMU Services. My husband I recently opened Balance Body Art Studio in Metro Atlanta.

I would love your VOTE to win this competition which will allow me to have access to a larger platform for Women Empowerment. Society has programmed us to accept an unattainable beauty standard that, I feel, is a plague in the industry. I want to continue to help women crack the code to their OWN Beauty Standard.
